imageBased in North Hollywood, CA, I’m an award-winning novelist and a produced screenwriter with comedy credits in Germany.  I also run a writing center part-time for MBA students at International American University.

I studied classics and sociology at Stanford (B.A.) and linguistics at San Jose State University (M.A.). This led to a varied career in the publishing industry and then to teaching linguistics, ESL and academic writing.

I’ve written comedic novels under the pen name Gwen Ellery and fantastical suspense as Imogen Bold. As for screenplays, I write them as me, myself and I: Deanna Carlyle.  Since moving to LA, I’ve become active in a development lab for pro screenwriters and actors called Deadline Junkies, a weekly series of staged readings and instant feedback on how screenplays play in real time.

In my free time, I hike, read, and study animation and video editing techniques. I’m proficient in AVID and familiar with Premiere Pro.
